GetResponse, the lifecycle marketing automation platform, has launched GetResponse MCP, a new integration that allows marketers to connect their GetResponse accounts to AI assistants including ChatGPT and Claude. Marketers can now analyse campaign performance, access customer data, and prepare new campaigns directly through conversations with these assistants.
While marketers are increasingly using AI to generate campaign ideas and content, accessing their own marketing data and putting those ideas into practice still involves switching between different tools. GetResponse MCP simplifies this process using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard that allows AI assistants to work with external services and their data.
Through MCP, marketers can ask ChatGPT or Claude to summarise newsletter performance, compare results across campaigns or identify contacts based on engagement and other customer information. They can also draft and edit newsletters and save them directly to GetResponse. A single prompt can even generate a campaign draft comprising a landing page, newsletter and welcome email.
GetResponse is also exploring what MCP can do for ecommerce. In a proof of concept, the GetResponse team used Claude connected to GetResponse MCP to build a product recommendation module for an ecommerce store in under 20 minutes. The module matched the store’s existing design, including fonts, product tiles and pricing, while recommendation performance data continued to be reported in GetResponse. The demonstration shows how AI agents could significantly reduce the time and technical work involved in building ecommerce integrations, opening up potential applications for MCP beyond email marketing.
The launch of the MCP follows the release of GetResponse’s Customer Loyalty Report, which surveyed 2,400 consumers and 600 ecommerce brands and found that email remains consumers’ preferred channel for hearing from their favourite brands, despite businesses ranking social media as their most effective loyalty channel. The findings highlight the continued importance of email in building customer relationships and the opportunity for marketers to make better use of their existing campaign and customer data.
Michael Leslie, CTO at GetResponse, said: “Marketers already use AI assistants to develop ideas and write copy, but campaign data often sits elsewhere. Connecting an assistant to GetResponse means they can work with their own email results as they prepare their next campaign, rather than manually bringing that context into a chat.
“Importantly, we’re not handing over control of marketing campaigns to AI. The integration can help marketers analyse performance and prepare content, but the decision to send a message or publish a page remains firmly with the marketer.”
